what is better 5.1 analog out or fiber digital optic out?

ok just to clarify what im asking

how it has a wire for each speaker from the dvd player to the a/v receiver.

i just want to know which has better quality sound for movies and games etc.

The optical cable if far better, aside from it being digital, is fibre optic and uses light to transmit the signal. The reason that this is better is that when you use an analog cable made from stranded copper wire there will always be resistance, however the fibre optic cable is a 1:1 cable meaning that there is no resistance and that 100% of the signal going in is coming out at the other end. Also with fibre optic you don't have any length limitations as you traditionally do with copper cables.
Definitely go with the fibre optic cable for audio!
