How long does a standalone dvd recorder last?
Every time we record anything now, the discs either freeze or skip.
They can last from 1 to infinity years. I have one that lasted only 13 months. It was a good brand too. Then I have one that lasted six years already and it was a cheapo brand. So I think it is difference depends on if your was made on a Friday afternoon.
If your disc skip or freeze, maybe you have a scratch or your video is copy protected. It may not always be the recorder. I am assuming that you are not referring to a DVD drive that inside a computer, but a component that sit next to your TV.
