DC to DC step down converter/regulator?

What is the comprehensive procedure for testing a dc to dc step converter, including equipments used in the testing?

Test equipment needed:
A variable DC Source capable of supplying the converter's input voltage range and capable of providing the total current drawn by the converter under max load.
Variable Resistive loads.
A Voltmeter.
An Oscilloscope.
Procedure:
With no load, apply a nominal input voltage. Measure the output voltage.
Lower and increase the input voltage (within the limit specs) and measure the output voltage.
Connect a nominal load, apply a nominal input voltage, measure the output voltage. Change input voltage as before and measure output. Change the load (within the limit specs) and repeat measurements.
On all tests conducted above, connect an Oscilloscope at the output terminals, to observe that no high frequency oscillations are present and that if other components, like ripple, if present, do not exceed the specs.
In some cases, other than resistive loads may have to be used, depending on the specs of the converter.
